I can jump in and answer this... YES!!! We are working on developing a Gibson Advanced Jumbo plan. This is similar to the J45. Some very well known builders & repair techs say that this was one of the best sounding flat tops ever built. (if you believe those sorts of things). This plan is a combination of tracings we have acquired from actual instruments and published measurements from vintage instruments. I am very excited to get this plan cooked. ![]() |

Well DonW was to have sent me John How hand drawn plans on the OLF Folk guitar but I have not seen them. There is somthing not exactly related to the forum on the board at present. More on that pretty soon from Brock. That project has hit a stumbling block because of our visitors from China this month but should rap up in a week or so. |

You know John.. I have to say, that burst on the bottom is SUPER fine. I wouldn't have pictured that body style looking good with a burst... but wow... I don't care what anybody says... I like 'em. And ... they made a few vintage AJ's that were natural. |

John I have to say that if you must do burst the one on your guitar at the top is as nice as they get, still think it would have looked nicer without it ![]() I am paying homage to the guitar below by having it as my avatar, has to be the ugliest I have ever seen I think they cleaned the spray gun on it ![]() http://www.dreamguitars.com/images/preowned/Collings_CJ-SB_9 408/full.jpg This is apparently a dream guitar !! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am sure it plays and sounds better than it looks. How about a sunburst Banjo with a built in accordian, Heaven ![]() ![]() |

How about some OLF Stella repro plans? Not to put too much work on John and Michael. I think it would be an awesome addition to the library. BTW those are some great bursts! |

Russel The thing I do that is different than most and why I like my sunbursts, is I stain the wood. All coloring is done directly to the wood which does not unless you go all the way to black, hide the grain but only stains it. The one you pictured has the color in the finish and the finish which becomes opaque so the wood is actuall painted and the grain hidden from view. |

Hi John I will never quite get the burst thing, I mean why take a beautiful Collings guitar like the one in the picture and cover it in that gunk ![]() However I must confess I do prefer the look you achieve with yours, it doesn't look painted and shows much more of the wood. Yours look kind of vintage if that makes any sense. |
